Last week, PCMA Foundation released their spring lineup of student scholarships. Thirteen (13) scholarships are currently open for students who plan to pursue a career in the business events industry. Combined the scholarships will cover over $45,000 in tuition fees. The PCMA Canada West Chapter encourages students members to apply.
As a past recipient, I can’t stress enough how beneficial it was to receive a scholarship from the PCMA Foundation. I was rewarded with so much more than financial aid.
Scholarships enhance your professional image. Many of the scholarships provided by the Foundation include additional perks like PCMA Membership, and event registration. At Convening Leaders and Educon, scholarship recipients are given opportunities to stand out from other student members. There are often exclusive networking opportunities for recipients, giving them more access to industry professionals and learning opportunities. You can even include scholarships and professional affiliations on your resume.
The scholarship I received through the PCMA Foundation covered my flights, accommodation and registration fees for Convening Leaders in Nashville, TN. Being a part of PCMA, and having the ability to attend Convening Leaders was the highlight of my time at University. Thanks to PCMA I gained industry knowledge that I would not have received solely through my studies, and felt confident in my transition from university to the workforce. Most importantly, I built up a network of inspiring event professionals who are collaborative, creative and knowledgeable!

Applying is simple:
- Review the scholarships available under the ‘Spring Scholarships’ tab at: https://awards.pcma.org/
- Create an account by clicking register on the right sidebar, and following the instructions given.
- Now that you’re registered you can log in to your account. You should automatically be directed to your applications page.
- Using the drop down menu select ‘Spring Scholarships’ and click ‘Create’
- Fill in the required fields and submit your application!
